Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Selmuk Hire, a recruitment platform operated by SELMUK (FZE), a Free Zone Establishment licensed by the SRTI Free Zone Authority, Government of Sharjah, under trade licence 11585 (“we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using the platform you accept these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

01The service

Selmuk Hire lets candidates create a profile and upload a CV, and lets employers post roles and receive candidates matched and ranked against those roles. Matching uses automated processing, including large language models, to read CVs and score suitability.

02Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old. You must give accurate registration details, verify your email address or mobile number when asked, and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at info@selmuk.com if you believe it has been used without your authority.

03Candidate terms

• Use of the platform is free for candidates.
• The information you provide, including your CV, must be true and must be yours to provide. Do not upload another person's CV or details.
• You grant us permission to store your CV, extract information from it, process it to produce match scores, and disclose it to employers through the matching process described in section 5.
• You may edit or delete your profile at any time. Where an employer has already received your details, deletion from our platform does not withdraw what they hold; contact the employer directly.
• By registering a mobile number you agree to receive verification codes and service messages by SMS or WhatsApp. You can opt out of non-essential messages.

04Employer terms

• Roles you post must be genuine vacancies with lawful terms, described accurately.
• You may use candidate data only to assess and contact candidates for the role concerned. You may not resell it, add it to a separate database for unrelated purposes, or pass it to third parties without the candidate's consent.
• You must comply with applicable UAE employment and anti-discrimination law, and with your own obligations as a controller of any personal data you receive.
• You must not attempt to identify a candidate whose identity attributes are withheld at the stage you are at, or to circumvent the controls that withhold them.
• You are responsible for the acts of every user you add to your organisation's account.
• All hiring decisions are yours. You must not treat a match score as a decision, and you remain accountable for the fairness and lawfulness of your process.

05Identity-blind matching

The platform withholds candidate name, photograph and nationality from employers in the early stages of a match, and releases them once a candidate is shortlisted. Where a role requires appearance-related information for reasons connected to the job, an employer may enable that requirement for the specific role; doing so is recorded, and the employer is responsible for the lawfulness of that requirement.

06Fees and payment

Employer access is charged as set out in the order or subscription you agree with us. Fees are payable in advance and are stated exclusive of VAT and any other applicable taxes, which you pay in addition.

Payments are processed by Tap Payments. We do not store your card details. Subscriptions renew for successive terms unless cancelled before the renewal date. Fees already paid are not refundable except where the law requires it or we have agreed otherwise in writing. We may suspend access where an invoice is overdue.

07Acceptable use

You must not:

• scrape, crawl or bulk-extract data from the platform, or use it through any automated means we have not authorised;
• attempt to gain access to accounts, data or systems you are not entitled to;
• probe, disrupt or overload the service, or interfere with its security controls;
• submit content designed to manipulate automated processing, including instructions embedded in a CV or job description intended to influence scoring;
• upload malicious code, unlawful content, or material that infringes another person's rights;
• use the platform for anything other than genuine recruitment.

08Intellectual property

The platform, its software and its content belong to SELMUK (FZE) or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it in accordance with these terms. You keep ownership of the content you submit and grant us the licence needed to operate the service as described here and in the privacy policy.

09Availability

We aim to keep the platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend it for maintenance, and we may change or withdraw features. Except as expressly stated, the platform is provided as-is and we exclude all implied warranties to the extent the law permits.

10Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, or loss or corruption of data. We are not liable for hiring decisions made by employers, for the conduct or accuracy of statements made by any user, or for the outcome of any employment relationship.

Our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or AED 1,000 where you paid nothing.

11Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where you breach these terms, where we are required to by law, or where continued access presents a risk to other users or to the service. On termination, the rights granted to you end; sections 8, 10 and 13 survive.

12Changes

We may amend these terms. The effective date above shows the current version. Where a change materially affects you we will give notice by email before it takes effect, and continued use afterwards means you accept the amended terms.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Sharjah and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, including the regulations of the SRTI Free Zone Authority. The courts of Sharjah have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them.
